Education savings program Virginia529 is rebranding as Commonwealth Savers to reflect its expanded mission beyond education savings. The organization also will rebrand its flagship education savings plan as Invest529.

The rebranding reflects Commonwealth Savers' goal to become a national leader in comprehensive financial wellness, offering savings options for education, disability, and retirement, according to organization officials.

In addition to Invest529, Commonwealth Savers oversees ABLEnow (a national savings program for people with disabilities) and RetirePath Virginia (a state-sponsored retirement savings program).

“As we change our name and expand our offerings, some things will never change," said Mary Morris, CEO of Commonwealth Savers. "We remain dedicated to empowering savers to be capable, confident, and in control of their future."

Commonwealth Savers also manages SOAR Virginia, a statewide initiative aimed at improving access and affordability to post-high school education. The organization's new branding will be reflected on its website and materials soon.
