On Sept.  1, the Virginia Spirits Board will launch a digital Virginia Spirits Passport that encourages individuals to explore and celebrate the commonwealth’s craft spirits offerings and experiences.

The digital Virginia Spirits Passport is a free program open to all Virginians or visitors aged 21 and older. The curated list of more than 20 Virginia distilleries is expected to grow as more distilleries join throughout the year.

Using geospatial technology, the platform will allow users to check in and record visits to accumulate points that can be redeemed for prizes, including locally made artisan gifts, Virginia Spirits Expo tickets and entries into sweepstakes to win getaways and experiences.  The program will run through Aug. 31, 2024, with select distilleries offering deals and discounts guests can redeem during visits.

Among the participating distilleries are Reservoir Distillery and Virago Spirits in Richmond; Three Crosses Distilling Company in Powhatan; 8 Shires Coloniale Distillery and Copper Fox Distillery in Williamsburg;  Ironclad Distillery Co. in Newport News; Deep Creek Distilling in Chesapeake, Tarnished Truth Distilling Co., Beach Vodka, and Waterman Spirits in Virginia Beach; A. Smith Bowman Distillery in Fredericksburg, and many more.
