Virginia Senate implements voice message center

Table of Contents

Virginians who want to provide input about legislation in the Virginia Senate during this year’s General Assembly session now have another way to do so. The Senate has established a toll-free voice message center that will receive calls each weekday during the session (beginning Jan. 13 and concluding when the session does).

The number – 1-833-617-1821 – will be available from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday; and from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday.

Operators will record the name of the caller, his or her address and Virginia Senate district, the designated Senator to receive the message, and the issue on which the caller is expressing an opinion. Messages will be forwarded daily to the appropriate senator for their review.
