Virginia law firm offering $1,000 scholarships for women

Table of Contents

Hofheimer Family Law Firm will offer a $1,000 scholarship to two non-traditional women interested in education, to honor Kristen D. Hofheimer, the firm’s former owner, who died of breast cancer in 2019.

The scholarship will open every year on April 15, Hofheimer’s birthday, and the deadline for submissions is May 31. Participants can nominate themselves or another woman.

Semifinalists will be chosen out of the nominees and will submit a video essay. The top submissions will then be posted on the Hofheimer Family Law Firm’s social media where the public will vote on the winners.

The theme of this year’s scholarship is “straighten those crowns.” The theme was inspired by the quote Hofheimer’s family said she embodied: “Be the kind of woman who straightens another woman’s crown without telling the world it was crooked.”
