Virginia DSS moving headquarters from Richmond to Henrico

“As we move into our new modern space, we’re not just changing our address - we’re stepping into a new chapter where every corner of this building reflects our commitment to designing and delivering high-quality human services,” said Virginia Department of Social Services Commissioner Danny Avula. “Just as our services and programs must be continuously evaluated and adapted to the needs of Virginians, so too should our workspace be intentionally evaluated and designed in order to better serve Virginia families through improved teamwork and collaborative engagement at our administrative headquarters.”
The new headquarters will be located at 5600 Cox Road in Glen Allen. The move will allow for better and more streamlined work, collaboration, and communication between the different parts of the Social Services system, officials said.
Contact information and scheduled services with local offices, including case managers and medical assistance enrollment specialists, also will not be impacted by VDSS’ transition to the new location, officials said, and VDSS staff contact information, such as phone numbers and email addresses, will remain consistent.
