Virginia DRPT launching public transit promotional campaign

The Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation is launching a new statewide campaign to promote the benefits of public transit.
The campaign, titled “Connects Communities,” is set to begin Sept. 9 and will emphasize the significance of public transportation in enhancing accessibility, improving economic vitality, and reducing carbon emissions.
By increasing awareness of the local transit options statewide, officials hope that more Virginians will take advantage of those benefits.
“We are excited to launch the 'Connects Communities' campaign to highlight the vital role public transportation plays in the lives of Virginians," said DRPT Director Zach Trogdon. "Public transit is more than just a way to get from point A to point B; it's a lifeline that connects our communities, supports our economy, and promotes sustainability."
A dedicated page on the ConnectingVA website will be provide residents with in-depth information about local transit options, the benefits of using transit, and various resources.
