Virginia DEQ to host Glen Allen meeting about greenhouse gas emissions

Table of Contents

The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality will host a series of three community meetings statewide, including one in Henrico, to get feedback on ideas that would help the commonwealth reach its climate pollution reduction goals.

The first meeting is scheduled for Jan. 22 at 6 p.m. at the DEQ Piedmont Regional Office at 4949-A Cox Road in Glen Allen. The other meetings will be held Jan. 23 in Woodbridge and Jan. 25 in Virginia Beach.

The DEQ also will accept public comment via an online survey. Residents can share their priorities by clicking here. The feedback the DEQ receives from residents will be used to develop a short-term priority action plan that includes projects that will compete for part of the $4.3 billion implementation fund.

The funding opportunity is part of a Climate Pollution Reduction Grant awarded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
