The Virginia Credit Union Moonlight Ride will take place with 3-mile and 8-mile rides through Richmond’s and Henrico’s Northside Aug. 5.

Both events will begin at Sports Backers Stadium on Ashe Boulevard, next to The Diamond, in Richmond. The 3-mile ride, which will begin at 8 p.m., will travel down Boulevard, Brookland Parkway and Hermitage Road and then loop back at Bellevue Avenue.

The 8-mile ride will begin at 8:15 p.m. and travel along Boulevard, Brookland Parkway, Hermitage Road and Lakeside Avenue to the Lakeside Volunteer Rescue Squad, then loop back along Lakeside Avenue through Bryan Park and back to the stadium along Hermitage/Boulevard.

Road closures will be in place beginning as early as 7 p.m. and continuing until 10:30 p.m. at the latest.

Commuters should not try to cross Hermitage Road at Laburnum Avenue.

From the west side of Hermitage, commuters should use 195 South or Westwood Avenue. From the east side of Hermitage, they should use Brook Road to get around the course.

Roads will be open south of Overbook Drive and north of Hilliard Road.

The event will be held rain or shine. Registration options are still available online.

The course will feature lights, party stops and more. There also will be pre- and post-rid parties and a Family Zone at the stadium.
