Virginia Credit Union LIVE! at Richmond Raceway will welcome fans back at full capacity for an expanded concert season beginning in July, raceway officials announced Thursday. The venue did not host its traditional season last year because of the pandemic.

“We welcomed fans back to Richmond Raceway for NASCAR in April, so now we’re ready to welcome concert goers back to Virginia Credit Union LIVE! beginning in July,” said Richmond President Dennis Bickmeier. “While we were unable to host concerts in 2020 due to the pandemic, we continued to reinvest in the redevelopment of the facility to be ready to welcome fans back. We look forward to fans returning to Virginia Credit Union LIVE! for one of the best concert experiences in the greater Richmond region.”

This year’s schedule includes shows by Dropkick Murphys, Drive-By Truckers, Cody Jinks, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, and Machine Gun Kelly, among others.

Richmond Raceway and AEG Presents are in the fifth year of a 10-year booking agreement for Virginia Credit Union LIVE!.

“As live music returns to Virginia Credit Union LIVE!, we are proud to continue our long-term successful partnership with Richmond Raceway,” said Rick Mersel, vice president of The Bowery Presents Mid-Atlantic. “We have another amazing concert season planned at the only covered amphitheater in the greater Richmond region with even more shows to be announced in the near future.”

“We are excited about the return of live music to Virginia Credit Union LIVE! and we appreciate the ways our partnership with Richmond Raceway provides value to our credit union and its members,” said Glenn Birch, pirector of public relations for Virginia Credit Union. “The diverse lineup of acts has wide appeal and we believe the advance ticket sales, free parking and other benefits will lead more people to discover the benefits of membership with Virginia Credit Union.”
