The Virginia Department of Transportation is evaluating the transportation network in the West Creek area near the Henrico-Goochland border and is seeking input from the public as part of the process.

The West Creek Area Transportation Access Plan Study is focused on the area bounded by I-64 to the north, West Creek Parkway to the south, Route 623 (Hockett Road) to the west, and the Henrico-Goochland line to the east. It is part of a larger effort to develop solutions that improve the overall transportation system while also considering the needs of pedestrians, cyclists, and public transit users. The study aims to make improvements to capacity, operational efficiency, and safety.

As part of the study, VDOT May 6 launched an online survey to get feedback from residents and travelers. The survey will be open through May 20, and responses will be used to refine the future roadway network presented in current Goochland County planning documents.

The study is expected to produce final recommendations by summer 2025, but it will not set construction dates for any improvements. For details about the study, click here.
