Varina outlasts Powhatan in overtime classic 28-27

Bonus football saw Varina use the extra time to top Powhatan 28-27 on November 12 in Virginia football.

Nothing was decided in the third quarter, with Varina and Powhatan locked in a 14-14 stalemate.

Varina’s offense darted to a 7-0 lead over Powhatan at the intermission.

Neither squad could muster points in the first quarter.
