In observance of Red Ribbon Week 2019, Varina High School will hold a community engagement event Oct. 30 at 7 p.m.
Sponsored by the Drug Task Force, the Red Ribbon Football Game will feature a candlelight vigil at halftime and a community banner signing. The first 10 to sign the banner will win a prize.
Red Ribbon Week is an alcohol, tobacco and other drug and violence-prevention awareness campaign observed annually in October. It began as a tribute to fallen DEA special agent Enrique Camerena in 1985.
