Va. Department of Health to launch vaccine pre-registration site Tuesday

The Virginia Department of Health is implementing a new statewide pre-registration system online for the COVID-19 vaccine Feb. 16.

In preparation for its launch, all local health districts in the state will shut down their pre-registration (or interest) forms online Feb. 12 at 5 p.m. No one will be able to pre-register between that time and the launch of the new statewide form, VDH officials said in a statement Friday.

Anyone who has pre-registered with a local health department by 5 p.m. Friday will automatically be rolled into the new statewide system, so there is no need to register again. Those people will retain their current status in the local queue.

Anyone who has not pre-registered by that time or who has not been eligible to pre-register yet will be able to do so when directed by state and local officials once the statewide system is active.

During the three days when pre-registration is not available, state officials will de-duplicate, clean and consolidate the data from all local health district systems and also remove the names of people who already have been vaccinated (a process that typically takes about 48 hours to occur).

If you live in Henrico and are eligible to pre-register, you may do so by 5 p.m., Feb. 12 at http://vax.rchd.com.
