USPS offers reward in assault on carrier in Highland Springs

The United States Postal Service is seeking the public’s help identifying the person who fired a paintball gun at a mail carrier in Highland Springs – and it’s offering a reward of as much as $50,000.

The assault happened June 19 at about 3:20 p.m., when the carrier was in the 200 block of South Elm Avenue. The carrier was walking along his normal route delivering mail when a green Chevrolet Malibu with Virginia license plates (pictured) circled around and shot several paintball rounds at him. He was hit, and then the car drove away.
