Another indoor family adventure park is coming soon to Henrico County.

Urban Air Adventure Park, which bills itself as the largest indoor adventure park operator in the world, will open a franchise location in Short Pump, according to company officials. The specific location and opening date have not yet been announced. The company also intends to open locations in Midlothian and Woodbridge as part of its first venture into Virginia.

Urban Air Adventure, whose locations offer a variety of activities such as indoor skydiving, go-karts, trampolines, laser tag, climbing hills and walls, ropes courses, mini golf, foam pits and warrior courses, currently has more than 150 locations and 85 more in development. It ranked as the top entertainment franchise in Entrepreneur Magazine's Annual Franchise 500 list.

Its arrival in Henrico will make it the latest such company to venture into the county joining Surge Richmond (which recently opened a similar adventure park at Regency mall) and DEFY Richmond at Virginia Center, which replaced Jumpology at its current location.

"It was a special summer at Urban Air for many reasons, but maintaining our momentum with franchise agreements and continuing to expand our reach is certainly near the top. We're growing in ways that exceed our expectations and there's a lot for this team to be proud and excited about," said Josh Wall, chief growth officer of Unleashed Brands, Urban Air’s parent company, which also owns Snapology and The Little Gym. "The demand for peer-to-peer interaction and physical activity for kids will always be there, and Urban Air's ability to provide fun, social and memorable experiences to kids across America is unwavering."
