Techstars and the University of Richmond will host Techstars Startup Weekend March 22-24 at UR's Robins School of Business. The event is a designed as a creative and collaborative three-day program through which aspiring entrepreneurs experience startup life.

The event is open to the public, and anyone can develop and pitch new startup ideas. The weekend includes creating a business model, validating it with potential customers, and competing within a supportive community.

The Techstars worldwide network is designed to help entrepreneurs succeed. Founded in 2006, Techstars began with three ideas: entrepreneurs create a better future for everyone; collaboration drives innovation; and great ideas can come from anywhere.

In addition to operating accelerator programs and venture capital funds, Techstars connects startups, investors, corporations, and cities to help build startup communities. It has invested in more than 2,200 companies that today have a combined market cap valuation of more than $30 billion.
