A University of Richmond professor is among 12 recipients of the 2025 Outstanding Faculty Awards, presented by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia and Dominion Energy. Each recipient will receive a $7,500 gift from Dominion Energy at a ceremony in Richmond March 4.
Terry L. Price, a leadership professor, Coston Family Chair in Leadership and Ethics, and former senior associate dean at the University of Richmond's Jepson School of Leadership Studies, earned one of the awards. Price is recognized for his work on leadership ethics and is considered a leading philosophical voice in the field. He also has received numerous accolades, including the University of Richmond's Distinguished Scholarship Award, and authored several articles and three books on the subject. Price holds a B.A. in psychology and philosophy from UNC-Chapel Hill, an M.A. in philosophy from Arizona, an M.Litt. in politics from Oxford, and a Ph.D. in philosophy from Arizona.
The annual award recognizes faculty at Virginia's higher education institutions who demonstrate exceptional standards in teaching, scholarship, and service. The Outstanding Faculty Awards have been presented since 1987. A panel of peers reviews nominations submitted by institutions, with a final committee of public and private sector leaders selecting the recipients.
This year, the program received 83 nominations, which were narrowed down to 24 finalists before the selection of the final 12 recipients.
