Twenty new Henrico County firefighters graduated from Recruit Academy 83 March 6 during a ceremony at the Henrico Theatre in Highland Springs. Fire officials also recognized the achievements and promotions of several active members during the ceremony. 

“I’m grateful to our 20 newest firefighters for choosing service above self,” Henrico Fire Chief Jackson Baynard said. “Congratulations on completing 30 weeks of rigorous training, and welcome to the Henrico Fire family.”

Career achievement awards were presented to Firefighter David Clark and Captain Clint Wyatt. Among those recognized for their recent promotions were Bryce Grissom (assistant chief), Zach Zellner (battalion chief) and civilian LaToya Brathwaite (payroll manager).
