Marine Corps League event to feature Zinni

General Anthony Zinni, USMC Retired, will serve as guest speaker at the Marine Corps League's celebration of the Corps' 249th birthday.  The event, which benefits Toys for Tots, will be held Nov. 2 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Lakewood Retirement Community. 

Tickets to the event include dinner of prime rib and swordfish, as well as a dance, and are available at a cost of $45.  New toys as well as cash donations for Toys for Tots will also be accepted.  

To RSVP (deadline Oct. 26), or for details, email paymaster329@gmail.com.  Checks should be made payable to the James M. Slay Detachment, MCL (note "dinner" on memo line) and mailed to J.M. Slay Detachment 329, P.O. Box 245, Charles City, VA 23030. Dress code for the Ball will be dress blues, mess dress, red blazer with MCL cover, or civilian coat and tie.
