The Generosity Collective is part of a strategic plan that allows UMFS to collaborate with local organizations to improve the lives of high-risk children and families in need.

The nine nonprofits that are part of the partnership include: Caring Closet, Fit4Kids, Happily Natural Day, Shalom Farms, United Methodist Association, Virginia Association of Independent Specialized Education Facilities, Virginia Kids Belong, Voices for Virginia's Children and Worthdays. Each nonprofit organization will have a permanent space on the 25-acre Richmond campus, near the Henrico County line. The arrangement will allow the organizations to save money on rent and allow them to reach more children.

“At UMFS, we believe that relationships are our building blocks,” said UMFS President and CEO Nancy Toscano. “The Generosity Collective allows us to support smaller nonprofits that are driving meaningful change in the Richmond community. These partnerships also allow UMFS us to serve children and families holistically, and work towards a shared mission of empowering them to achieve a brighter future.”

The UMFS Richmond campus was revitalized recently and the extra space was created to support the partner organizations.
