More than 200 people gathered Sept. 21 at the Tuckahoe Family YMCA to dedicate Frye Field in memory of Coby Frye, who died in April. Frye was a well-known and well-respected coach of basketball, soccer and flag football at the Tuckahoe Y who led by example, teaching young athletes to embody the core values of the YMCA, according to staff members. Family and friends of the Frye family conducted a fundraising campaign to make the naming of Frye Field possible.

“In naming the field in Coby’s honor, we hope that all who gather here mayhold dear the core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility that Coby instilled in his players”, said Tim Joyce, CEO of the YMCA of Greater Richmond.
