Tuckahoe Little League all-star team wins state tournament

The Tuckahoe Little League National 8-10-year-old all-star team won the Virginia state championship July 12 in Lynchburg, defeating a team from West Springfield 9-3.
Tuckahoe began tournament play by beating Loudoun 5-3, then blasting Bennetts Creek 30-3 in its second game of pool play and Fairfax 8-7 in walk-off fashion in its third game of pool play.
Tuckahoe, the top seed in the single-elimination portion of the tournament, then won two games July 11, hammering Virginia Beach 19-1 and slipping past Loudoun again, this time 4-1, to advance to the title game.
