A tractor-trailer driver was charged with reckless driving after the raised bed of his vehicle struck an overhead traffic sign during a morning commute on Interstate 64 in Eastern Henrico, Virginia State Police officials said.

The crash occurred at about 9:36 a.m. at the 200-mile marker on I-64 westbound. The truck was driven by 62-year-old Richard Houston Jr. of Lorton, Virginia. The raised bed separated from the cab when it struck the sign. Traffic came to a halt until 11 a.m., when crews were able to remove the trailer and sign from the road.

Houston was not injured. The crash remains under investigation.
