Topgolf has closed on its purchase of about 13.5 acres of land at 2308 Westwood Avenue in Henrico's Near West End, adjacent to Scott's Addition.

Dallas-based Topgolf already has begun construction on a multilevel driving range and entertainment complex with a targeted date of next fall to be open for business. It purchased the site for an undisclosed price from 4100 Tomlynn Satreet-Rebkee, a partnership between local developers Lynx Ventures and Rebkee Co.

This will be Topgolf's fourth location in Virginia. Its concept allows guests to play point-scoring golf games using microchipped balls that instantly score themselves, showing players the accuracy and distance of their shots instantly on a TV screen in their hitting bays. The venues also feature chef-driven menus, high-end drinks, big screen TVs and music in climate-controlled hitting bays.

Topgolf opened its first U.S. location in Alexandria, Virginia and currently has 47 venues throughout the U.S. Its other Virginia locations are in Loudoun and Virginia Beach. Topgolf employs more than 1,200 associates in the state. Its new Henrico location is expected to serve approximately 350,000 guests annually.

Bruce Bigger of Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer in Richmond and Luke Wilson and Terry Syler with The Real Estate Connection in Dallas, Texas, represented Topgolf in the transaction.
