Tito's Handmade Vodka is Virginia ABC's most popular spirit for seventh straight year

For the seventh year in a row, Tito’s Handmade Vodka reigns supreme as the most popular spirit in Virginia, according to the Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority. The vodka giant secured $75 million in sales statewide during Fiscal Year 2024 – a $3 million increase from the previous fiscal year.
Tito’s sales nearly doubled the second-place finisher, Hennessy VS, which earned more than $38 million. Jack Daniel’s Old No. 7 secured the third spot with $28 million, followed by Patron Silver at $25 million and Jim Beam with $23 million. Rounding out the top 10 were Jameson Irish, Lunazul Blanco, Maker’s Mark, Grey Goose, and Crown Royal.
Tequila saw a surge in popularity, claiming the title of fastest-growing category by cases sold for the second consecutive year. Lunazul Blanco, in particular, experienced significant growth, rising from tenth to seventh place with $19.4 million in sales. Other notable tequila brands include Teremana Blanco and Reposado, both making jumps in the rankings.
Virginia-distilled spirits also enjoyed continued growth, reaching $25.8 million in sales and surpassing one million bottles sold for the second year in a row. Bowman Brothers Virginia Straight Bourbon led the way in this category, followed by John J. Bowman Virginia Straight Bourbon and Isaac Bowman Port Finish Whiskey.
Some spirits, including D’Usse VSOP, Fireball, and Casamigos Blanco, experienced a decline in sales. D’Usse VSOP suffered the most significant drop among the top 50 products, falling 20.2% from fiscal year 2023 to $6.6 million.
The Virginia ABC opened its 400th store (in Jonesville) during the fiscal year. Its third-highest performing store statewide (according to total gallons sold) was the Short Pump location, with 89,882 gallons. The top two were in Virginia Beach (108,681) and Fairfax (106,587).
