This is Virginia's favorite Christmas candy

Virginia's favorite Christmas candy is . . . M&M's, which dethroned candy canes, according to CandyStore.com. The website compiled the three most popular Christmas candy items for each state in the nation through a survey of more than 26,000 of its customers. M&M's selection is fitting for Virginia, considering that the candy's manufacturer, Mars Inc., is headquartered in McLean, Virginia. With annual sales last year of $37 billion, it was the sixth-largest privately-held company in the United States.
If spending on holiday candy remains the same as last year, total holiday candy sales in the U.S. would exceed $2 billion, according to CandyStore.com. The National Retail Federation predicted that holiday spending this year would remain relatively on par with last year.
