Retirement Unlimited, Inc. hosted a “Sneak Peek and Sign the Beam Event” earlier this month to announce the opening of The Westmont at Short Pump Sales Gallery. The new $40-million senior community is located at the corner of North Gayton Road and Pouncey Tract Road in Short Pump.

The community features 123 designed studio, one and two bedroom apartments for independent living, assisted living, and Inspiritás – RUI’s adaption for memory care, which is located within a private part of the community and includes 30 apartments. It will employ 150 people.

“In addition, the area will experience the economic impact of the spending power of 140 new residents moving to the area, not including the nearly 150 construction jobs already associated with the project.” said Doris-Ellie Sullivan, president of Retirement Unlimited, Inc.

The event included a Facebook Live tour of the community for viewers, since only RUI and Westmont officials were present in person, due to COVID-19 precautions.

The Westmont features a library, a theater, billiards and game rooms, a coffee shoppe, and a fitness and wellness center, as well as courses provided through RUI University. A full-service salon and spa with a nail technician, hair stylist, esthetician and massage therapist also are available.
