The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen announces new season

The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen recently announced the lineup for its 2023-2024 season, including theater, music, and dance performances, as well as exhibits. Tickets start at $20 for select shows.
The 2nd Stage concert season will include both indoor and outdoor options. The indoor Cardinal Ballroom shows will feature cabaret-style seating in an informal setting, while the Center Field outdoor performances will feature general admission seating; guests should bring lawn chairs or blankets. All performances will have wine, beer, snacks, and dessert available for sale.
Among the season highlights of 2nd Stage performances will be Good Shot Judy, The Taters, Desiree Roots, The Whiskey Rebellion, a special salute to Burt Bacharach, Yesterday and Today - The Interactive Beatles Experience, The Capitol Fools (featuring former members of the Capitol Steps), an evening pairing the music of Patsy Cline and the Richmond Symphony, and the immersive world of Artrageous.
On October 7, the Coming Back Home benefit performance (tickets $40) will feature the music of John Denver, with a backdrop of changing graphic images and songs interpreted by such veteran Richmond musicians as Chris Fuller, George Turman, Frank Coleman, Jackie Frost, Susan Greenbaum, Danny Hughes, Brad Tucker, and Kim Ryan. The special event will include scripted segments with narration leading into arrangements of John Denver compositions, and will benefit Opening Minds Through Art.
New art exhibits throughout The Center’s four onsite galleries will include works from The National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts, glass art by the Virginia Glass Guild, and abstract art by Tonyelle Bryant. Special events throughout the season, which are often free, include an artisan-crafted Festival of Trees on display from Dec. 2 through Jan. 7.
