A new beer bar is coming to Henrico’s Libbie Mill - Midtown development.

The Brass Tap Craft Beer Bar has leased a 3,300-square-foot space in the Emmer Row building at 4901 Libbie Mill East Boulevard, according to developer Gumenick Properties, which is building the community. The location is expected to open sometime later this year.

The Brass Tap, which opened its first location in Wesley Chapel, Florida (near Tampa) in 2008, now has more than 40 locations in 15 states, including one in Williamsburg.

“Like many friends, Abhi and I always had a dream of growing up and opening a bar together and we are finally hoping to make that dream a reality with the newest location of the Brass Tap in Libbie Mill - Midtown,” said Yash Patel, owner of the new location. “The vibrant culture and diverse craft beer market in Richmond attracted Abhi and I to open up Richmond’s first Brass Tap and we hope to create an atmosphere where locals can come and try a wide variety of beer selections that they won’t find anywhere else.”

The announcement comes a week after one from the owners of Acacia - Midtown – the newest iteration of a former Richmond restaurant – that they’ll open at the Libbie Mill site later this year, too.

“We are thrilled to be adding such a new and unique beer and restaurant experience to Libbie Mill - Midtown,” said Gumenick Properties’ Director of Property Management Diane Tidwell.

Gumenick broke ground on Libbie Mill – Midtown in 2014. The 80-acre community is the largest revitalization project in the county’s history and features a variety of uses and the county’s Libbie Mill Library.
