Teen pleads guilty in crash that killed rookie Henrico officer Trey Sutton

The teenage driver who was charged in the crash that killed 24-year-old Henrico Division of Police Officer Trey Sutton and severely injured two others pleaded guilty in court Tuesday morning.

Jeffrey Adam Lankford of Hanover, who was 18 at the time of the crash, was facing felony involuntary manslaughter and misdemeanor reckless driving charges.

He was sentenced to two years with one year and 10 months suspended for involuntary manslaughter. The two months of his sentence will be served on house arrest and not in jail, subject to approval from the sheriff.
