Virginia Senate votes to abolish the death penalty
The Virginia state Senate voted on Wednesday to abolish the death penalty. The House of Delegates must also pass the same bill before it can be sent to Governor Ralph Northam (who already has expressed his support for the idea) to sign. The bill was sponsored by Senator Scott Surovell
