Henrico's Board of Supervisors Tuesday night approved construction contracts for three Far West End projects.

The board authorized a $627,000 contract for the construction of 1.4 miles of sidewalks and ADA-compliant ramps along the southside of Nuckols Road and Pouncey Tract Road. Work is expected to begin March 1 and take about 120 days to complete. The state will pay for about half the cost, while the county will pick up the remaining cost.

The board also authorized construction of a 10-foot-wide paved, multi-use quarter-mile trail within Short Pump Park. The trail will connect to John Rolfe Parkway and will cost $240,000. Work will begin March 1 and be completed within 90 days.

And Dominion Boulevard in Innsbrook will receive an additional southbound right turn lane at its intersection at West Broad Street as part of a $294,000 project. The existing median will be reduced in size to allow for the change. The project also will include the construction of ADA-compliant ramps.
