Stemtree of Glen Allen, a K-12 tutoring center, will celebrate its official grand opening in Henrico with an open house Oct. 4.

The center, located at 10921 West Broad Street, will provide light refreshments and welcome visitors beginning at 5 p.m. Stemtree offers students with one-on-one instruction in science, technology and engineering.

Stemtree offers after-school, STEM-focused enrichment through hands-on projects and experiments. Students learn through a structured but customizable curriculum.

“I created Stemtree to give students the edge they need to succeed in school, career, and beyond,” said founder Dr. Abdelghani Bellaachia, known as "Dr. Bell." “But we can’t reach them with more lectures and lessons, especially after a full day of school. That’s why you will not find a traditional classroom here. Instead, we ignite the kids’ passion for learning by engaging them in fun, hands-on activities. We bring basic science to life through workouts in science, technology, and engineering.”

Stemtree of Glen Allen first opened its doors in June. During the week, it offers after-school programs at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, with optional pickup at local schools. A home school program is available weekdays.
