U.S. Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger will host a telephone town hall meeting April 15 from 7:40 p.m. to 8:40 to discuss the impact of COVID-19 on education in Central Virginia. Spanberger, who represents Virginia’s Seventh District (which includes the western half of Henrico), will be joined by a number of local education officials, including Henrico Schools Superintendent Amy Cashwell, Reynolds Community College President Paula Pando, Virginia Deputy Secretary of Education Holly Coy and others.

Spanberger will deliver a brief update about ongoing efforts at the federal level to respond to education issues caused by the coronavirus crisis, and she will answer constituent questions about the effects of the pandemic on area students.

The conversation also will address what parents and students should expect in the coming weeks and months in response to the pandemic.

To join the interactive telephone town hall, constituents should dial-in to 855-920-0555. To listen live to the conversation, Central Virginians can visit https://spanberger.house.gov/live during the event.

Wednesday’s telephone town hall will be Spanberger’s third such event since the pandemic began.
