Southwest weekend service to Tampa, Orlando begins in August

Local travelers soon will have two new ways to reach Florida.
Southwest Airlines has announced a new nonstop route – Richmond-Tampa – and the return of seasonal Richmond-Orlando service.
Service between Richmond and Tampa will operate on Saturdays and Sundays, and Richmond-Orlando on Saturdays, beginning Aug. 10 for both destinations.
Flight times will be as follows: Saturdays from Richmond to Tampa departing RIC at 11:55 a.m. and arriving TPA 2:05 p.m., and from Tampa to Richmond departing TPA 9:20 a.m. and arriving RIC 11:25 a.m.
On Sundays, flights will depart Richmond 1:15 p.m. and arrive TPA at 3:25 p.m., and leave TPA at 2:20 p.m., arriving Richmond 4:20 p.m.
From Richmond to Orlando, flights will depart RIC Saturdays at 11:10 a.m. and arrive at MCO 1:25 p.m., and depart at MCO at 8:40 a.m. and arrive RIC at 10:40 a.m.
