(Sponsored content) – We've all had to embrace home delivery over the last 6 months - but what is your delivery doing besides just showing up at your door? How you choose to spend your grocery dollars can really add up. Hungry Harvest is coming to Richmond and does more than just get farm fresh produce and pantry items to your doorstep - they put your purchase to work to eliminate food waste and hunger with every delivery.

Starting October 8th, Hungry Harvest will not only begin their produce deliveries in Richmond, but they will also start working with VCU (Virginia Commonwealth University) Ram Pantry to provide weekly donations to students in need. 20 billion pounds of produce goes to waste every year before it even leaves the farm. All of that discarded produce contributes to climate change and could help feed those struggling with hunger in our communities, including food insecurity on college campuses.
Hungry Harvest rescues perfectly good, delicious produce that would otherwise go to waste for being the wrong size, wrong color, wrong shape or grower surplus and pays farmers a fair price for their harvest.

Available in a variety of sizes and options, including organic, you can get a new mix of produce each week or customize your order for free, mixing and matching your fruits, veggies and kitchen staples to make sure you get just the right Harvest for the way you like to cook. Each no contact delivery is made using a team of local drivers and boxes start at just $15.

Since 2014, Hungry Harvest has reduced over 22 million pounds of food waste and donated or subsidized over 1.5 million pounds of produce to partner organizations and through our own food access programs.

“It's in our DNA to help our communities where we can.” says Evan Lutz, CEO & Co-Founder of Hungry Harvest. “Our entire team is continuously looking for more ways to help and figure how we can make it happen. We’re committed to continuing to challenge ourselves to make new connections with other local organizations and neighborhoods, increasing our donation efforts with each passing week.”

Life feels better when we take care of ourselves and each other. When you get your groceries with Hungry Harvest you can feel good knowing you're not just providing healthy food for your home, but also for your community.
