Shoebox ministry collecting gifts for Operation Christmas Child

Table of Contents

On behalf of Operation Christmas Child, area churches and organizations will collect gift-filled shoeboxes this holiday season to send to children around the world.  More than 9.1 million shoebox gifts were collected worldwide in 2020 (more than 170 countries total), with more than 7.8 million collected in the U.S.   With the help of millions of shoebox packers and more than 15,000 year-round volunteers worldwide, organizers hope to exceed that total this year.

During National Collection Week (Nov. 15-22), Operation Christmas Child will collect gift-filled shoeboxes at more than 4,000 drop-off locations in all 50 states and Puerto Rico. To find a location, visit https://www.samaritanspurse.org/operation-christmas-child/drop-off-locations/.

Drop-off locations utilize extra precautions, including curbside drop-off, to ensure the safety of volunteers as well as individuals who are dropping off boxes.

For those who prefer contactless delivery of boxes, custom shoeboxes can be built online for a donation of $25 each. To collect boxes on behalf of a group, leaders can build a “Goal Page” at no charge to the organization, following the steps to receive a unique link used to invite participants personally. For details about contactless options, visit www.samaritanspurse.org/buildonline.
