Table of Contents

The OU program is a three-part program that meets during three eight-week sessions annually. Some courses are offered in-person, some via Zoom, and some both. The program is $50 for members, and annual membership is $25.

Two of the three program locations are in Henrico County. The newest location, Lakeside United Methodist Church, opened in September, where classes are held on Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and from 11 a.m. to noon. The courses will focus on Irish short stories, great women composers, presidential leadership, meaning in art, memoir writing, introduction to gardening, and other topics.

The Wednesday Lunch and Life series is also available at St. Mary's Catholic Church, at 9505 Gayton Road in Henrico. The event begins at noon with a bag lunch served by the church, and the program also features speakers provided by The Shepherd's Center.

The oldest location of the three sites is St. Luke Lutheran Church, located at 7757 Chippenham Parkway. The program there includes courses and lunch talks on Mondays, beginning Jan. 15 focused on architecture, 1940s jazz, critical thinking, current events, the Normandy invasion, Spanish, Italian, and good English.

Additional offerings in foreign languages are available on Tuesdays via Zoom.
