Shepherd's Center of Richmond announces fall course lineup

The Open University offers courses in various subjects, including history, science, literature, foreign languages, arts, music, film, current events, and exercise. This fall’s offerings include new courses in Japanese, French, Italian, and German, as well as intermediate Spanish, German, and Japanese for those continuing to learn foreign languages.

History lovers can look forward to courses on the battle of Gettysburg, the couple who saved the British monarchy, Middle Ages biographies, the lore of Ireland’s landscape, and the underground railroad for Mennonites and Brethren in the Civil War. The Open University offers courses on art, including a look at traditional art forms and courses on memoir, creative, or obituary writing.

In addition to the course schedule, there will be 16 lunch talks presented by the Shepherd’s Center to both in-person and Zoom attendees, which are free with the center's $25 membership.

The center also partners with St. Mary’s Catholic Church to host four free lunch talks on select Wednesdays.
