Sheetz announces $28.5-million in employee raises

Sheetz announced Wednesday that it will boost employee wages at its network of more than 600 Mid-Atlantic stores by a total of $28.5 million, beginning Feb. 12.

The company employees about 18,000 people in its stores, including more than 2,500 in Virginia. Nearly all will be impacted by the effort, company officials said.

The bump will increase average salaries by more than $1,500 annually.

Sheetz also recently updated its parental leave policy to include 12 weeks of fully paid time off for new mothers.

The company previously boosted wages by $15 million in 2016 and $16.8 million in 2019, officials said.

In total, Sheetz employs more than 20,000 people and has nearly 1,300 current openings, which are listed at http://jobs.sheetz.com.
