Second shooting in 24 hours near Staples Mill Road leaves one dead

A woman died in a shooting at a Henrico apartment complex Tuesday morning – just blocks away from the location of a shooting Monday morning.
Tuesday’s shooting took place in the 7600 block of Beth Road in the Abbington West End apartment complex, just off Staples Mill Road not far from Glenside Drive, happened shortly before 8 a.m. Tuesday. About an hour later, Henrico Police reported that they were in the initial stages of a death investigation.

The site of the shooting was just blocks away from the site of Monday’s shooting in the 4200 block of Sprenkle Lane. In that incident, shots were fired during a domestic dispute between tow adult women, according to police. One then left in a vehicle and was pursued by Henrico and Virginia State Police south on I-95, until state troopers set a tire deflation device, which stopped her vehicle. She then died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to state police.
