Scholarship available to former Quioccasin Middle School students

The Dr. Lonnie E. Gailes Scholarship, given to a graduating high school senior who attended Quioccasin Middle School (previously Byrd Middle) for at least two years, is currently accepting applications for 2024. Seniors who have demonstrated a commitment to academic excellence, leadership, and moral character are eligible to apply.
The scholarship was established by the PTA of Harry F. Byrd Middle School in June 1984 and is named in honor of the school's first principal, who devoted 33 years to educating, inspiring, and enriching the lives of students.
