Scenthound bringing 'dog wellness' concept to Short Pump

Scenthound, founded in 2015, bills itself as the nation's first dog wellness concept and is planning more than 250 franchised and corporate-owned locations in 24 states. The Short Pump location, at 10921 West Broad Street, Suite B, will host a grand-opening event May 11, with all proceeds that day to benefit the Richmond SPCA. Scenthound also is planning two more locations in the Richmond region, according to company officials.
The new location is operated by Freddie Harris, a former corporate team member and a long-time dog lover, and Scott Lata, a former manager at The Country Club of Virginia.
All memberships include the “basic hygiene” package (including a bath, ear cleaning, nail clip, teeth brushing and six-point wellness check), and dog owners can purchase additional services as needed.
