SB's Lakeside Love Shack to be featured on national restaurant show

The program will feature an on-camera interview with owner Sarabeth Hagan and will be aired at a later date on social media channels, including here. SB’s Lakeside Love Shack, which opened in 2017, is known for its affordable and fresh cuisine in a fun and open atmosphere.

Hagan had planned to become a teacher but was more interested in the hospitality industry. She saw a need for a restaurant in the close-knit Lakeside community.

During the pandemic, SB’s Lakeside Love Shack pivoted to takeout and delivery only, but also was successful in attracting a steady stream of customers through word-of-mouth. With help from the staff, the restaurant was able to expand and add a bar.

“The more you give, the more you get,” Hagan said. “What I tell my staff is: I don’t care what you are wearing [or] who is walking through that door; everyone is welcome here. It is such a cool vibe, and you can feel it. You can look around and see the diversity and see everybody has to eat. It’s what brings you together.”

Today, SB’s Lakeside Love Shack boasts a menu that includes items named after B-52 song lyrics, such as signature dishes like Big As A Whale breakfast, featuring three eggs, coffee, and choice of meat, bread, and side.

A second Love Shack location opened at 2600 Main Street in Richmond in 2022.
