An employee of Rivers Edge Elementary School has tested positive for COVID-19, according to school officials.

The employee had not been in the school building since Aug. 24 and has had no contact with any visitors while at the school, according to an e-mail sent to the school community by principal Pamela James Monday evening.

"[N]o REES employees who are known to be positive or have known exposure to COVID-19 have been at school since Monday, August 24th,” James wrote. “Our staff has been continuously cleaning and disinfecting work spaces according to best practices for health-risk mitigation. Our staff also follows safety protocols in place concerning wearing masks and maintaining social distance.

The school will remain open for appointments and other school-related business this week, but anyone with concerns about conducting school business inside the building should call the school to reschedule or make virtual arrangements.
