The Capital Region Airport Commission reported 439,951 total passengers for July 2023 at Richmond International Airport, a new all-time high that surpassed the previous record set earlier this year (431,416 in May).

Capital Region Airport Commission President and CEO Perry J. Miller cited economic development, new airline route offerings and Richmond region growth trends due to in-migration as reasons for the continued upswing in traffic.

Three airlines – Breeze, Delta, and Spirit – saw year-over-year traffic increases exceeding 25 percent.  For the calendar year to date, passenger traffic has increased 19.2 percent versus a year ago.
