Restaurant Watch - Sept. 10, 2017

Following are routine and complaint inspection reports for Henrico County food establishments inspected recently by the Henrico Health Department, according to Virginia Department of Health guidelines. Deficiencies are noted as “priority” or “priority foundation” (posing a direct or immediate threat to the safety of the food being served) or “core” (representing a failure of cleaning or maintenance). Inspections represent only a snapshot of the establishment on a specific date and time and may not be representative of its overall cleanliness, according to the VDH. Unless noted, all reported violations were corrected at the time of inspection or shortly thereafter.

AUG. 24
Publix, 4591 South Laburnum Avenue – Two priority violations reported (deli meats at sub station, several cold items at salad bar observed at improper temperatures; quat sanitizing solution at Starbucks three-compartment sink observed at improper concentration when tested with test strip – sink was drained and refilled but sanitizer was still too weak) and no priority foundation violations reported.
Sushi King & Grill, 9125 West Broad Street – Three priority violations reported (raw eggs observed stored over ready-to-eat vegetables in walk-in cooler; covered noodles in walk-in observed at improper temperature after four hours; raw shrimp sitting out for about four hours observed at improper temperatures) and one priority foundation violation reported.
Target, 4521 South Laburnum – No violations reported.
Waffle House, 3202 East Parham Road – One priority violation reported (spray cleaner observed hanging over syrup packs) and no priority foundation violations reported.
Wok N Roll, 7514 West Broad Street – One priority violation reported (food on display – fried wonton and green onions – not protected from contamination) and no priority foundation violations reported.

Buffalo Wild Wings Grill & Bar, 4300 Pouncey Tract Road – No violations reported.

Habanero Mexican Grill, 9101 Quioccasin Road – No priority violations reported and one priority foundation violation reported.
Rise Biscuits & Donuts, 11561 West Broad Street – One priority violation reported (employee observed changing gloves but failing to wash hands after handling raw meat, employee observed drinking out of a bottle but failing to wash hands before returning to food prep) and one priority foundation violation reported.
Subway, 7250 West Broad Street – One priority violation reported (no
sanitizer found in three-compartment sink) and no priority foundation violations reported.
