Publix, 10150 Brook Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: hot water is unavailable at the hand sink at Starbucks; low boy at Starbucks has a torn gasket; gaskets are pulling away in the deli area; hand sink near slicers and hand sink in breading station are both in disrepair; underneath the Starbucks three-compartment sink needs cleaning; drains throughout the facility need cleaning; dish area has low grouting; some tiles are cracking in the chicken breading area.

Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, 8121 Brook Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: temperatures of cole slaw and rice in the prep cooler are elevated; observed containers stacked wet on the dry storage rack; observed buildup on sides of floor bins, fryer wheels and on rolling racks in the walk-in cooler; hood filters and floor around fryers are greasy; observed food and mildew buildup in floor drains throughout the facility, especially in drive through area and walk-in cooler.

Tropical Smoothie Café, 1513 North Parham Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: front hand sink doesn’t have soap; corn and kale are past their expiration dates; temperature of sweet potatoes found on counter is elevated; light in the restroom is burned out.

McDonald’s, 8060 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: some employees are wearing bracelets on their arms; faucet at three-compartment sink is leaking; observed grease, dust and food debris on surfaces of beverage dispensers, inside reach-in freezer, on fan grate, and on shelving racks in walk-in cooler; observed dust buildup on cables, monitors and dishwasher; observed grease and food debris buildup on floor under grills and fryers.

Verena at the Glen, 10286 Brook Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed food debris greater than one day old on slicer; dish machine chlorine sanitizer level is at 0 ppm; pink mildew found on ice shield; temperatures of chicken salad, tuna salad and potato salad are elevated; food incorrectly stored on floor of freezer; two paper towel dispensers are not working; one-door reach-in unit has a torn gasket and a light out; small cooler in dining room is not cold enough; three mops are not hanging to dry; there are cracked floor tiles and missing coving tiles in dry storage area; observed a hole in the wall in dish area and dry storage; several areas need cleaning (behind cookline, drains throughout the kitchen, on floor under three-compartment sink, wall under three-compartment sink, and in dry storage area).

Burgerworks, 10321 West Broad Street – No violations reported during a follow-up inspection.

St. Mary’s Woods, 1257 Marywood Lane – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: sanitizer level is too low in sanibucket; sides of equipment on the cookline are greasy; observed food debris on floors under equipment on the cookline.

Heavenly Burgers, 608 East Nine Mile Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed dried food debris inside the microwave; temperatures of lettuce, tomato and cheese on the counter are elevated; container of white powder stored on the stove is unlabeled; observed dried food debris and dust on sides and table of grills, fryer, drink machine and on hood filters; floors throughout the kitchen are in disrepair; observed dried food debris on floors, walls and ceilings throughout the kitchen.

Viet Garden, 7103 Brook Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: noodles on top shelf over prep unit, and chicken and shrimp in reach-in are uncovered; multiple prepared items that were prepped three days ago do not have date marks.

Wendy’s, 2120 John Rolfe Parkway – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: person in charge states there is no training on employee health; person in charge was not able to identify the “big six” foodborne illnesses and their associated symptoms; observed an employee making burgers wash hands without soap; observed another employee handle raw burger and not wash hands before handling cooked food; temperature of salad in low boy near service window is elevated; temperatures of lettuce, pimento cheese and tomatoes on the cookline are elevated; metal bins were stacked wet on dish area racks; several metal bins in the dish area are heavily dented and no longer smooth and easily cleanable; two green cutting boards are heavily scratched with a black substance in the grooves; prep unit on the cookline is not maintaining the proper temperature; temperature in low boy unit near the window is elevated because juice bottles were blocking ventilation; fryer baskets have grease and carbon buildup; chili warmer is dirty with food debris greater than one day old; freezer has crumbs at the bottom of the unit; fan grate in walk-in unit is dusty; mop sink doesn’t have the proper backflow prevention device installed; toilet in men’s restroom needs cleaning; trash can in women’s restroom doesn’t have a lid; observed plastic bags and boxes in the refuse area around the dumpsters; mops are not being hung to air dry; floors throughout the facility are dirty; light in walk-in isn’t bright enough.
