JUNE 29

Clean Eatz Richmond, 11801 W. Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: refrigerated prepared meals for customer pick-up do not have date marks; improper cooling methods used for chunk chicken and sweet potatoes; observed an employee handling food while wearing rubber bracelets; walk-in cooler fan guards are dusty.

Jing Sushi, 7019-G Three Chopt Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: dish machine is not sanitizing; cooked shrimp next to fryer is not at the correct temperature; rice scoop found in water; rolling cart and shelf supports at the sushi bar have bare wood exposed; drip trays to the stove are dirty.

Little Caesar’s, 7332 Staples Mill Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed grease and grime on bottles, utensils and sheet pans stored on racks near three-compartment sink; assembled pizzas are not being marked to indicate discard time; storage shelves in walk-in cooler are moldy; surfaces of pizza oven and warmers are dusty; observed dust, grease and food residue on all green wire racks and rolling speed racks; floors and walls are dirty and grimy; observed dust build-up on ceiling tiles and vents.

JUNE 30

KFC, 4821 Williamsburg Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: freezer near three-compartment sink has a worn gasket near the bottom of the door which is causing ice build-up; racks across from fryers are greasy, and grease filter next to the fryer is covered in heavy grease build-up; food debris found in the mop sink; shelves, hot-holding chicken shelf trays, racks of fryer and upper oven need cleaning; several areas were found dirty including toilet in women’s restroom, floor under equipment, and walls behind the dip-in fryers; hood filters are dusty and greasy; observed dusty/black substance on fan guard in walk-in; water is pooling near the back drain.

Pizza Hut, 5100 Williamsburg Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: racks in the back and in the walk-in cooler are dusty and dirty; floors and fans in the walk-in cooler and floor under equipment are dirty.

Carini Italian Restaurant, 3718 Williamsburg Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: certified food protection manager certificate is expired; person in charge was not able to identify the “big six” foodborne illnesses and their associated symptoms; temperatures of lasagna, pasta and sausage in the walk-in cooler are elevated; temperatures of patties, raw fish, salami and lasagna in cook line unit are elevated; temperatures of mozzarella and ground beef in the pizza prep area are elevated; no food in the walk-in cooler or other cooling units were marked with a date; two sanitizer bottles are unlabeled; sliced meats and cheeses, breaded parmesan chicken and other products are stacked high and are unable to cool properly; pasta and sausage in the walk-in are in deep bins covered with plastic wrap and cannot cool properly; ceiling tiles in the employee restroom are soiled.

JULY 1

Regal Cinemas at Short Pump, 11650 W. Broad Street – No violations reported during a routine inspection.

Me’kong Restaurant, 6004 W. Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: person in charge is not ensuring that employees are properly trained in food safety; facility does not have a certified food protection manager; hand sink is being used as a dump sink for food (hand sink is for handwashing only); observed a foreign piece of material in bowl of sliced pork; dried food debris found on knives hanging on the wall, mandolin slicers and can opener blade; observed a bowl washed but not sanitized after use and put in storage; ice machine has build-up of ice; multiple foods exceeded cooling time and temperature parameters (shaved pork, shaved chicken, cooked tofu and cooked veggies); temperatures of sprouts and tofu are elevated; egg rolls do not have a date mark; several boxes of food incorrectly stored on floor of walk-in cooler and freezer; single-service containers are not stored inverted; racks in reach-in coolers and shelves storing plates are rusty; cutting boards are deeply scratched and stained; observed lime and grime build-up inside dish machine blocking nozzles; observed food debris and build-up in between cooking equipment, inside reach-in coolers, on storage racks, in utensil bins, and on floors, especially under cooking equipment.

JULY 2

Pier 88, 4420 S. Laburnum Avenue – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: bar hand sink does not have handwash signage; flour bin is unlabeled.

Wendy’s, 4609 Williamsburg Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: back hand sink is missing paper towels; raw eggs incorrectly stored over cheese and raw bacon incorrectly stored over lettuce in the walk-in cooler; ice machine interior has a layer of pink slime; plastic storage bins have food debris on them; temperatures of raw burger patties, sliced cheese, shredded cheese and tomatoes are elevated; biscuits and whole potatoes incorrectly stored on the ground near back office; plastic storage bins and metal bins are stacked wet over three-compartment sink; observed a leak on ceiling above front hot-holding area; observed low grouting on floor tiles near bacon and ice machine and up front; floors throughout the facility are greasy; wall above the front fryer hood is stained.
