Peking Restaurant, 8904-F W. Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed employee wash hands in prep sink (wash hands only in hand sink); observed two employees washing gloves at hand sink and not discarding them; three cans on rack were dented at the seam; slicer found dirty with food debris greater than one day old; observed dirt build-up on ice machine; temperatures of cabbage and chicken are elevated; time control policy not used with General Tso’s chicken; observed dumplings incorrectly cooling at room temperature; white powders on the cookline are unlabeled; several food containers incorrectly stored on floor of walk-in cooler; cabbage and oil incorrectly stored on ground on cookline; racks near dish area are heavily rusted; gasket in back walk-in freezer is in disrepair; observed unsealed wood behind three-compartment sink; racks in both walk-in coolers are dusty and have food debris; dry storage racks are dirty; observed heavy grease build-up on mixer; observed a leak under sink near the dish machine; ceiling is charred and stained, especially in back of kitchen; light switches in the back, walls and floors of walk-in coolers are dirty; two lights are out in the kitchen; coving in back of kitchen and wall in the back are in disrepair; hood filters and pipes on hood system have heavy build-up of grease.

Publix, 2250 John Rolfe Parkway – No violations reported during a routine inspection.

McDonald’s, 11311 Nuckols Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: an employee failed to change gloves and wash hands after handling raw meat and then touching surfaces and preparing ready-to-eat orders; back hand sink is missing paper towels; temperature of milk in dispenser at drive-thru is elevated; observed dried food debris and grime on surfaces of coffee and ice cream nozzles and inside reach-in freezer; observed dust on monitors, cables and surfaces of equipment; observed food debris and dirt on floors and in floor drains; grease pile found under grills.

Hadad’s Lake, 1140 Mill Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: certified food protection manager certificate is expired; person in charge stated that dishes are being washed in the hand sink (hand sink is for handwashing only); hand sink in bathroom off the kitchen is missing paper towels and hand soap; hand sinks in men’s and women’s restrooms do not have hot water; temperature of nacho cheese in hot holding unit is too low; temperatures of hot dogs in reach-in cooler and sliced tomato are elevated; bag of onions incorrectly stored on the same shelf as cleaner spray bottles; facility could not provide test strips for three-compartment sink sanitizer; hood filters above the fryer have grease build-up.

DQ Grill & Chill, 3275 New Market Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed three cans with dents at the seams; observed food debris on five ladles and one large spoon that were stored clean on a dish rack; interior of ice machine is dirty; temperatures of hot dogs, lettuce and shredded cheese in low boys on the cookline are elevated; non-crispy bacon found sitting out at room temperature; quat sanitizer at three-compartment sink is measuring above 200 ppm; ice cream incorrectly stored on floor of walk-in cooler; observed an employee wearing several dangling bracelets; metal skimmer is chipping and rusty; racks in walk-in cooler are rusty; freezer has build-up of frost; low boy up front and on cookline have torn gaskets; paper towel dispenser is missing a handle; small cutting board near milk shake area is heavily scratched and stained; walls in back, floors around and under racks and equipment, ceiling above racks and equipment, front hand sink, mop sink and shelves near cans are dirty; ceiling vent above three-compartment sink is dusty; observed large amount of unused equipment in dry storage areas.

Anant Cuisine of India, 4348 Pouncey Tract Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed residues and food debris on many utensils and storage containers; burn relief spray incorrectly stored next to food on pass-thru line; proper cooling method not followed for fried veggies and samosas; grill utensils found in standing water; spatula incorrectly stored in crevice at hand sink; take-out containers are not stored inverted; cutting boards throughout the kitchen are badly stained; racks in walk-in and bottom shelf of dish table are rusty; floors, walls, ceiling and floor drains throughout kitchen are dirty; shelving at pass-thru line, dry storage racks, and refrigerator exteriors and interiors are dirty; spray nozzle at sink next to dish washer hangs below the flood rim.

Wegmans Food Market, 12200 Wegmans Boulevard – No violations reported during a routine inspection.

Marco’s Pizza, 2284 John Rolfe Parkway – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: beef incorrectly thawing out on the counter; cornmeal stored in an unlabeled container; cutting boards are deeply scratched and stained; observed bare wood used for stacking pizza boxes; observed dicers with broken pieces; rubber spatulas are peeling and are no longer smooth and easily cleanable; observed build-up in edges/corners of three-compartment sink; observed grease and food debris build-up in pizza oven and utensil bin.

JUNE 29

Hawk’s Fish & BBQ, 3050 Williamsburg Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: interior of ice machine and microwave are dirty; temperatures of raw chicken, raw shrimp and bologna in refrigerated drawer are elevated; mac n cheese and BBQ in reach-in cooler do not have date marks; facility does not have a food thermometer; wet wiping cloth bucket in front has 0 ppm sanitizer; Styrofoam to-go trays on top shelf are not stored inverted; sides of fryers, sides of oven, and hood filters have build-up of grease; shelves, outsides of equipment, walls near fryers and wall behind three-compartment sink are dirty; floor is wet with fish water.

Publix, 4591 S. Laburnum Avenue – The following violation was reported during a routine inspection: Starbucks low boy has a torn gasket.
